I’ve been thinking a lot lately about goals I’ve set for myself. As I approach my 30th birthday (in 15 months), I can’t help but think about where I thought I would be at this point in my life, where I actually am, and where I want to be. But mostly I’ve been thinking about how goals I set 5 years ago, last year, even this year, no longer mesh with what is important to me. As I’ve moved through my 20s, I’ve shifted from wanting to busy all the time, having the nicest and trendiest things, and always trying… View Post

I thought I would start a fun new series called “Melissa In”, where I recap my various trips and adventures. Well, I think it would be fun anyway!  I’m going to start with my most recent trip, which is actually the first leg of a trip I took a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been to New York City many times in my life.  DC is only three and a half hours away, so between class field trips, DC United games, my own travels to visit friends, and taking friends who are visiting from far off lands, I seem to… View Post

That’s how I originally got into Oasis. The boy I was crushing on liked them, so I started listening to them too. … It’s been three weeks since my last post. I’m sorry. It wasn’t planned, I just got so wrapped up in other things that I didn’t make time to schedule posts. My B. So what have I been up to in that time? First and most importantly, I’ve been getting my side-hustle up in running. I’m not ready to disclose it here, yet, but if you follow me on Twitter or are one of my Real Life Friends, you know what it is. I’m excited with my progress so far, as I’ve met with two potential clients, booked a gig… View Post

Spring has arrived in D.C. and it is glorious. Sure, Spring means tons of tourists, but it also means cherry blossoms, sunny lunch time strolls, and baseball. I honestly do not know if there is anything more American than drinking beer and watching baseball. Last week, my friends and I went to watch the Washington Nationals play the St. Louis Cardinals. As there are several Cards loving people in my social circle, we usually make at least one, if not several, of these games each season. I wouldn’t call myself a diehard Nats fan, but I always like going to… View Post
