I’ve alluded to it in a few previous posts, and now I feel established enough to talk about my side hustle. I’m a pet sitter! And it’s been awesome! I get paid to play with kitties and puppies, can set my own schedule, and have the opportunity to stay in different neighborhoods around the District. Deciding on a Side Hustle When I was on the hunt for a side hustle, I was searching for an opportunity where I could make a decent side-income, set my own schedule, and do something I liked. One of the things I want to focus on during The Melissa Year is eating healthier.  When I broke my ankle two years ago, it led to discovery that I am diabetic.  However, despite that diagnosis, I did not have a doctor at that time that helped me navigate the transition into life as a diabetic. Spring has arrived in D.C. and it is glorious. Sure, Spring means tons of tourists, but it also means cherry blossoms, sunny lunch time strolls, and baseball. I honestly do not know if there is anything more American than drinking beer and watching baseball. Last week, my friends and I went to watch the Washington Nationals play the St. Louis Cardinals. As there are several Cards loving people in my social circle, we usually make at least one, if not several, of these games each season. I wouldn’t call myself a diehard Nats fan, but I always like going to… View Post
