The Washington Capitals are currently one of the hottest tickets in town. We have several of the best players in the world on our team, and are third overall in the League. I love hockey, so when a coworker sweetly offered me her pair of tickets while she was out of town for Thanksgiving, I jumped at the chance to catch a game live. My friend, Jen, was free to go with me, so we had a Dinner and Hockey Date on Thanksgiving Eve. The Verizon Center (henceforth known as The Phone Booth) is located in the Chinatown neighborhood. September 29th, 2015, started out like any other day.  I woke up, fed my asshole cats, got dressed for work, packed my lunch, and caught the bus to my office. I usually check Twitter, Facebook, Feedly, and Instagram on my 20 minute commute. So there I am, scrolling through Twitter, still sleepy, when I see this:  WUT. I love Kendrick Lamar. LOVE. HIM. To Pimp a Butterfly is definitely in my Top 3 albums of 2015 (and will likely stay there even with the release of new Ellie Goulding and Adele albums this month) and you can frequently find me… View Post

As I write this recap 3 days later, I am still laughing.  Thanks to the US Men’s Soccer team absolutely crapping the bed in the Gold Cup semi final on Wednesday night, I was able to attend the Trevor Noah show at the Lincoln Theater on Saturday night.  And I’m so glad I was able to do so (knocking #s 57 & 58 off my 101 in 1,001 list)! When I was in college, I was one of those girls.  You know, the kind that would start liking/pretend to like something because the guy she’s into liked that thing. That’s how I originally got into Oasis. The boy I was crushing on liked them, so I started listening to them too. Fast forward 9 years, and I still love Oasis, but the boy and I are just friends (he remains, to this day, one of my most favoritest people), and I am very much set in my ways and like what I like as long as I like it.… View Post

Spring has arrived in D.C. and it is glorious. Sure, Spring means tons of tourists, but it also means cherry blossoms, sunny lunch time strolls, and baseball. I honestly do not know if there is anything more American than drinking beer and watching baseball. Last week, my friends and I went to watch the Washington Nationals play the St. Louis Cardinals. As there are several Cards loving people in my social circle, we usually make at least one, if not several, of these games each season. I wouldn’t call myself a diehard Nats fan, but I always like going to… View Post
