Hello Lovelies! It’s officially February now, which means I can now say “I am going to England and Scotland this month!” Our itinerary is shaping up quite nicely, but I wanted to put the call out for suggestions for things to do and see in England and Scotland. I lived in Liverpool for a year, and have been to London numerous times, but York and Glasgow will be new adventures for me! Plus, no matter how many times you’ve visited a place, you still haven’t seen everything to be seen, and eaten everywhere there is to eat (I joke that… View Post

I’m a voracious reader. Just look at my 2015 Year in Books on Goodreads. I originally set what I expected to be a challenging, but attainable, goal of 52 books in 2015. I met that goal by the end of May. In my defense, I spent January recovering from my third, and hopefully final, ankle reconstruction surgery, and therefore was on my butt or back 80% of the month, but I also could have spent that month watching crap on Netflix (I did that too). I had a bunch of brunches and dinners out with friends, and even went to see… View Post

I don’t believe in resolutions, but I do believe in setting goals. Resolutions seem restricting to me once you set them.  Goals, however, are all about the end game, and the road to those goals can be as straight or winding as you want. I try to set six or seven goals every year that challenge me, but are also wholly attainable. 1. Travel to 2 new countries – I’m 98% sure I’m going to do the USMNT trip to St. Vincent in September, but I’d really like to take a non-soccer trip abroad next year.  There are so many… View Post

Welcome to Melissa’s Wanderland, y’all! I’ve been waiting to hit publish on this post for a long time. Like, months. If you had this post delivered to your inbox, but you have no idea why, it’s possible you followed either Melissa In DC or Made in the Eighties at some point in the past several years and were included when I moved my followers and… View Post
